Has anyone else tried these sweet little practice amps? Wow! I picked it up new on fleabay for 25 bucks and this sucker kicks serious arse! It's something like 1/2 watt but it just sounds amazing for it's size and price. You control the volume and distortion solely by your guitars volume control. It cleans up ok, but where it really excels is distorted sound. And get this, it runs on a 9v for 16 hours and they claim it'll drive a 4x12 cab! It ran my 1x12 pretty nicely. The original smokeys are built in a cigarette package, very cool idea, but from what I've heard their kinda flimsy. I got the polycarbonate cased Supro model which has a bit more drive, but the regular smokey comes in the poly housing too. This beautiful little sucker is my current favorite eBay found toy! You can check the company's website out at http://www.smokeyamps.com/ but you can get them cheaper on eBay. I bought mine from ebay seller richardsmusicco, and all I can say is they treated me great and delivered. |
