If you like killer rock n roll, and loud guitars (Who doesn't right?) my band Superchief will be playing the Vaudeville Mews on Monday June 22nd @ 9:30pm.

We are lucky enough to be playing with a GREAT group out of Boston called Township. These guys rule, and for those of you who are students of the 70s sound you will definitely appreciate what they have going on.

Check em out @ http://www.myspace.com/thefamilytownship and stop on out if you can.

Cheers!

I was born there, but haven't been back in years!

I hear there is always some good music going on in DM every week end;

A few years ago two of my brothers Gary and Jeff used to be in a band called The Land Sharks in DM, playing at The Spaghetti Works, Hull Ave. Tavern, and again both most recently was playing with Larry Berenguel at Orlondo's Restaurant. Brother Gary used to play in RH Blues Factor and also The Tom Gary Blues Band in DM, doing some shows at the Iowa State Fair.

Good Luck and keep the music going in Des Moines!

You should really podcast these shows or get video recordings.
I can't really get to Iowa. :D

Thanks man. Yeah for a town the size of Des Moines there is an awful lot of talent muckin' about. Granted there are also a lot of kids trying to recreate the "magic" that brought Slipknot out of here. If you can weed through the junk you will be quite surprised at what you will find.

We are one of the bands that stick out like a sore thumb in the scene because we are not metal, and not indie. We are loud, unafraid rock n' roll. Seems it is a rarity these days...

If you ever come back this way, let me know and we can go out and catch some good tunes.

Not sure if you have seen this or not, but this is a video that was shot of us. This show was our new singers first show with us (after only 2 weeks of rehearsals) and he is a bit nervous, but nonetheless, it is pretty cool.

I will see if we can get some more video at some of our upcoming shows.

Cheers!

Something else I was wondering, are you going to re-record any of the original songs or did the other singer (Sorry, I forget his name!) say otherwise?

We are in the process of recording now with the new vocal melodies and lyrics. The old singer never contributed to the band musically, so all we had to do was toss his vocal tracks... (which we were not happy with in the first place)

I will try to keep you posted on the material as it gets done. You can listen to a really rough mix of "Sweat" at our Myspace page.

Hey all, I know it has been awhile... been damned busy with the band and real life. Any way, our EP is finished and you can hear the tracks up on our MySpace page. The tunes will be available on iTunes by mid November as well. We can also take orders or requests and mail the disc out to folks.

Click on the link in my sig if your are interested in listening.

Keep on keepin' on

If you've got any audio, you should post that to the Audio Clip thread man. Good to hear from you again, it's been like three months! What ever became of that Invicta deal?

Glad to be back posting. My work literally went INSANE a couple of months ago, and is still kicking me in the teeth. I am just now starting to force myself to take time and check out the sites that I enjoy during small breaks. So the posts will be sporadic, but I am here... lurking and reading... mwuuhhahahahaha

I will see if I can find some clips and whatnot and post them up.

As for the Invicta, I got it and I love it. It is my main guitar now. It is so damned easy to play and it stays in tune better than any other guitar I have owned. The pickups have a real snarl to them that I have not heard in any other pickup before or since. The guitar did not come with an original case, as advertised, so I had to get a replacement case. I bought one of those nice SKB Les Paul cases, and the guitar is a bit loose in there, but a hand towel took care of that.

I would classify the guitar as in "good" shape, and I like the little character marks that it has. All the important pieces work great, and that is the most important thing with a gigging guitar.

Well, back to work.

Cheers!
