Back in '79 the Mayor of Providence, RI canceled a Who concert after 11 people were trampled to death at a shown in Cincy. I never turned in the two tickets that I had for the refund (11 bucks each hardly seemed worth it). Well... 33 years later the Who is coming back to Providence and they are going to honor the tickets from '79. The tickets were given to Special Olympics to auction off. I'm (hopefully) going to buy them at the auction and bring them to a meet and greet that the venue is setting up with Pete are Roger and get them signed, then donate them back to Special Olympics. Glad I hung on to these for all those years. If I just would have hung on to all of those guitars I had in the 70's I could probably but a house with the money... oh well http://news.providencejournal.com/break ... trade.html |

Good luck with your worthy cause. I was lucky enough to see the Who 1 week after the Cinci tragedy in 1979. I have seen them at least 15 times and this November will be number 16. |

I did get to see them on that same tour in 79 in New York. They haven't been back to Providence since the cancelled show 33 years ago. |
