Hey, I just got an old River City Amps Lunchbox head in - a friend I sold originally too years ago needed to sell a lot of gear for some med bills. He is a guitar hobby-ist really - and he had this head and it never left his house. This thing is LIKE NEW. I haven't been able to make this amp now for about 6-7 years ago because the chassis mfr. is no longer in business. So you can't get these cool chassis any longer. The is the "goo goo dolls" style head that they used on their last recording. This is serial number 7 of this model. It is made by hand by me. It is like new, with all of my engineering updates. If someone wants a cool hand made river city amp, this is a good opportunity to get one that you can't get any longer. It is in the old school hotrodded-marshall-esc ballpark. You are pushing 4 6V6s for about 40w. You can pull two power tubes for about 20W for half power. It has a push/pull boost function that gooses the midrange throwing you in front of the mix. Otherwise it is true "old school" in its looks and dial-ability. It'll give you that killer old marshall distortion that is very driven, yet has the clarity to hear all the notes in a power chord. Think "Back in Black" tone without the boost engaged, and a bit more in front of the mix for the boosted lead tones. VERY cool. The amp sounds great driving a marshall cabinet, or any 4x12 or 2x12 running Vintage 30s. It really likes Vintage30s. If interested contact me. Again it is like new, but you can't get new ones. I can make you the same thing electronically today, but in different chassis and cabinetry, and it will cost about 2X as much. Give me a shout if interested via PM or email. Thx. By the way, I have the original prototype that I keep for my own. It looks the same, has a bit larger OT transformer, and has had more changes inside as it is the one that was changed and tweaked to come up with this model. It is my own personal amp. Also, I could be swayed to trade this serial number 7 for a nice maple pro like the one on my avatar |

Congrats! That's a nice looking amp. I hope the new owner is proud to have an original series River City! |
