Posting in off-topic because it's not an Electra--

1968 Fender Bassman head and cabinet.

Excellent condition very original early silver face Bassman rig. I don't remember ever seeing a cleaner '68 head, probably because it was stored with it's original vinyl cover. The component date codes in the head are between 44th. week of '67 and 31st. week of '68 (transformers, pots, caps, etc.), indicating final assembly late in 1968 or so. I've just given it a once-over, with new filter caps, bias, and tune up.

Cabinet is 2 x 15" big box with original CTS speakers, sounds great and is in very good condition. These boxes were often dragged around by the side handles, which inevitably left them with a few scars. Even so, it's rock solid and looks great.

Sounds GREAT on 10 with a Telecaster!

I have too many amps and yet...... I lust after a bassman. That's a drip edge no? ab165?

It's got the drip edge grill trim, and the tube chart says AB165, but the circuit is AC568. I've reconfigured the output stage and bias supply to work like the AB165. Got rid of the bias balance control and set it up w/ standard adjustable fixed bias.

There are many more tweaks that could be done to the head to heat it up for guitar, but it actually sounds really good like it is.

I might split the head and cab, if the right offer comes up. Message me if you're interested.

These are killer as a basic tube head, push it to the end with great clean headroom, and use a tube screamer (or even two) for rock rhythm and leads. Old school that just KICKS A$$.

True!

The Bassman rig has been sold, though.

IMO the best "bass" amp they made was the Bassman 135.
