Very interesting John, haven't seen that one before! Very nice flame. 3 pickups, bet that's fun.

Thats so cool, an Aussie Frampton Comes Alive guitar! I love it. Guitars with 3 humbuckers, any brand, are the coolest thing. Did you say the dimensions of the guitar are different because of the 3rd pick up? One day I'd like to get one. Any one. The Frehley and Frampton sig models are top of my list (wish list that is) but the New Mockingbird and now the Aria looks pretty cool too. Once again my friend you come through with the coolest stuff around, and a road trip!

Ha!! Yeah... courtesy of a very kind bloke out west, this one!

I'm in the process of 'blacking it' out as the gold hardware was badly tarnished and rather than have everything re-plated, and because I think gold hardware looks a little tacky, I opted to replace everything shiny with black. Finding the right tuners was an act but we're undeway again now as I have ordered the Gotoh SG301 04 Bs and am just waiting for them to front up in the mailbox!

More later....

The knobs - whilst being correct for the guitar, don't look quite right to me... ideas?? I'd rather not use tophats or speedknobs, eh!

All I've done is swap out the tatty gold hardware for black and painted the pickup covers etc.; Gotoh bridge and locking tuners - which, incidently, worth every darn penny!! - meant that no new holes needed to be drilled.
Action is low and slick and the intonation was as near as darn to being bang on out of the box, so it is eminently playable and sounds awesome!

First thing that comes to mind is MEAN! Looks bad to the bone, like it would kick your butt in a heart beat.

I dig how you kept some gold going on, the black also ties in well with the dark burst theme. Very cool buddy.

So how do you like the 3 pup idea, sound wise?

Great job John, the locking tuners look great.

Okey dokey.... this was wired all wrong as both Don and I got it, so after an awful lot of to-ing and fro-ing and trying to find out how it might have been wired OEM, the brains trust at Matt.org gave me a gentle shove in the right durection and we're now good to go!!

I've wired the selector as per LP - n/n&b/b - and run the middle straight to the output jack through its own volume pot; a jumper to the tone pot - with a 22μf Orange Drop cap - allows some sound shaping. The middle pickup is always on and the volume pot is more of a blend control, and I can have each pickup on its own with judicious tweaking of the volume pots.

Added to this is a coil split; this thing has bags of options and sounds mega - very easy to play, too!!

If you see one of these for sale, grab it!
