I was just wondering if anyone here has any knowledge on the older Cort models. I ran across an older LP copy that is a set neck natural honeyburst type finish with nice abolonie inlay and trim. Looks like a well built model but not certain if they were made in japan or Korea. It plays well and sounds average for older stock pickups. It looks to be all original including nice wireing and pots. I have never ran across one of these models before and I am trying to get some insight on these brands. Any help is appreciated. Sorry I do not have any photos but I do not have the guitar yet and I am trying to decide if it is worth the $150 asking price. Thanks Arthur W. Herin

Cort is and I believe always has been a Korean company. Hey have made some fairly high quality guitars over the years as well as some budget models. $150 for a decent set neck LP copy is a steal. Go for it.

Thanks for the info. The more I look at it the more I like it.

I think they even had ties with the Samick brand.. then again, who hasnt.

Ive always liked corts, especially lp styles. the set necks have nice weight to them too.
bolt ons were nice to a point but a little on the light side, maybe had something to do with the laminate.

I did purchase this cort for $140 and I am enjoying it very much. Wood and grain are very nice and so is the binding. This one is a solid one and is on the heavy side just like the LP it was copied after. It has the fancy gold braided Cort logo. I like it. I will try to get a pic or two of it posted.thanks for the input and info. It is a Korean made guitar and an older one but very nice quality in all aspects.
