I am new to this forum and I absolutely enjoy it.I bought my first electra 6 months ago not because of the name because I didn't know anything about electra guitars, but because I liked the way it looked. It's the x280 I believe that's the working man model.it's the nice walnut looking one. I paid 100.00 for it and I was amazed how well it plays and stays in tune.since then I have bought the x290 and an x140....and my most recent is a 2014 or 2013 omega in black with case that I found on Craigslist in Phoenix, AZ for 300.00..supposedly it is the 2nd one sold in the USA the first one went to my sellers friend.yea he told me that he knows Ben Chaffin and Ben sold it to him and shipped it to him in Phoenix. It is currently on its way to me via ups. Can't wait to see it.any thoughts on the omega would be appreciated. Will try and get pics up as soon as I can figure out the process. Peace out...... jerry in killen,alabama...... :hyper:

Very nice and high quality guitars - made to ben's specs by a premium Korean builder - world guitars (pretty sure of that) based off of his handmade US version. World makes the PRS SE models too which are high-end Korean as well, and other makes that use that brand all have excellent quality. I like mine very much. I also have a new phoenix too. I had the privilege to play a new invicta and the new talon models too and they are fantastic.

I tweaked a few things on my omega, but then again, I just about ALWAYS tweak guitars no matter how nice they are (I always seem to think I can make them suit me better, usually I am right, but frequently I will have a lot of extra costs invested in the guitar for smaller incremental improvements. So you have to be careful spending too much on upgrades on any guitar as upgrading them may actually decrease the value. The stock pickups and tuners are fine, but I opted for some WCR/Wagner Pickups and locking tuners. My $3000 les paul has upgraded pickups and bridge and stop tailpiece on it. So I rarely leave anything alone. Similarly, my PRS SE model I own had its pickups changed out. The stock parts are really excellent quality, so give them a thorough try before swapping anything.

I have the Electra Talon, and I like everything about it. I can't see anything at all that I would upgrade. And I am not afraid to upgrade things, lol. The pickups really surprised me, they are worth keeping. I didn't quite realize this until I got to play them on stage, through my Marshall at a reasonable vol. They are G & B pickups, which are a well-known import brand. They are known for being a high quality even though they are stock on many Korean models.
