Hi Everyone! Here are the pictures of the new Omega samples. We should have them in stock in March. We are starting with one model and will be adding new models each shipment. They are being made at the World Music factory in Inchon, Korea. It is a great factory, one of the best! We were lucky to partner up with them. They also build PRS, ESP and DBZ guitars. Here are the specs.

We won't know the price for sure until they are landed but we think it will be around $700 with a hardshell case. There will only be 100 guitars in the first shipment. 80 black, 10 white and 10 black lefties. We will send them out with certificates.

They look real nice. What about the hardware for the switches and pots? Tone caps? Shielded cavity? Strap locks? I want it all... $700 with case sounds like a reasonably good price. I'm curious as to why there is such a big difference in the bridge and neck pickup readings... what's the rationale behind that? I'm used to seeing much more closely matched figures. A2's are nice magnets. What do you think the avg weight will be? Somewhere around 8 1/2 lbs?

Very nice way to start the new years egas for certain. I like the white but the Black is calling me also. Great job and congrats on getting the new Electras done.

Nice work indeed, I really like the neck through look.

Do you think you'll do any fancy electronics like the originals had? Such as the tone color switches or rotary knobs? I'm not being one of those absurd purists or anything, just curious!

I already have an Omega from 1976, but can always use an Explorer Electra. Maybe one of those? Anyway I just wanted to know about the bridges of the new Omega. My original bridge is getting a bit long in the tooth. Are the Tone pro's (metric) the ones that may fit my original Omega?

Nice stuff! World makes killer guitars, I own several of them from different names that you likely had designed. I think the package is a nice one, and very thoughtfully conceived. You sweat the details and it shows. I don't think they could be much nicer being they take the spirit of the originals but are not out and out copies - with a little "endorser" thrown in there.

The alnico II magnet pickups should compliment (tame) that bright tone from the ebony board a bit - good thoughtful design. I didn't notice if it had a carved maple top or not, so the ebony would also help brighten an all mahogany body - very similar to the LP custom. That bridge pickup seams to be wound kind of hot but if the guitar is bright from that ebony board it won't be a bad thing. Good tone on a guitar should have clarity in the neck pickup, and still have relative clarity (with a bit added warmth) to the bridge. I have a very similar config in a custom guitar and it works well (overwound alnico II bridge humbucker in a bright guitar neck/body combination). I like the neck joint work, I like the 50s style "chunky" neck, the binding is also LP custom. I like the fact you DIDN'T use gold hardware (looks good new, but not later). I like the chrome - oops, I mean nickel - a lot better.

Premium quality hardware is a big plus too. I like the belly cut too, as unfortunately, I need one! Just like the Omegas. I like the traditional tail piece too because it adjusts the tension on the strings. I know you are a fan of through the body stringing and I like that too and the tone and sustain advantages but it can also make a guitar feel stiff - so am glad you chose to do it this way. The non-traditional Vol Vol Tone setup sets it apart, and won't appeal to some traditionalists thinking more of an upgraded LP custom but won't likely matter to just as many others as well, its an excellent setup with push/pulls. The higher output bridge PU will sound better split too. Really nice!

Hmm, one little pick is that you can't see that nice inlay on that white headstock. A black headstock would look just as good on the white and show off those nice inlays. But I also LOVE matching headstocks on guitars too. So I don't know. Maybe a darker inlay on the white guitars would be cool (and unique). No one is doing that and it would be classy. Or an abalone - something with more contrast. Just an idea. You know more than I do about that. I just now re-read your post more carefully and see that you already took care of that! Sorry - I missed it the first time.

Just to say I just had a custom guitar built recently and yours in many ways is similar. I think you hit the nail squarely on the head as far as I am concerned. It is nice to see that the name will have good guitars made under it again and not be relegated to what they last did with the Crate Electras.

Now I wish I could play one! I bet I'd like it a lot. If you need an amp or tubes contact me using my email!

Played both of these a couple weeks back. Very Fun guitars. Great feel too. I'm partial to the White one and may consider one. Gawd knows I have enough guitars but a new Ben Chafin Electra might need to happen. I am REALLY a Natural finish kind of guy but I might have to in the end.

Wish me luck, I'm headed to see Ben Tuesday to get one of my Hamers doctored up a lil bit. Gonna try to get my hands on the White one again.
