Yikes! :o Came in a bit higher than previously announced......kinda there in entry level Gibson cost, might be an uphill journey at that price point. Low cost and decent quality is what brought most of us to the brand originally....

The price is probably on par with the original prices, if you adjust for inflation. Still too much for me either way. Besides I would want a slim neck profile and my next guitar is going to have a floating bridge.

If it plays as good as or better than a Gibson LP, the price isn't bad. Of course each instrument of any brand will vary from guitar to guitar when it comes to feel and sound. I might prefer a no name guitar that plays like a LP Custom, to a Gibson LP Studio that feels cheap and plays bad in comparison. The materials being used for these new electras seem to be the best of the best.

How is the public going to test drive them? NAMM or Reviews in Guitar World and Guitar Player?

Good luck y'all.

Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I chimed in but it looks like we are finally getting things going!
One of my first repair jobs was at a music store in Orlando. It was the early 80’s and we became an Electra dealer. I thought they were the coolest guitars ever! The problem was they were $700 to $900 dollars, about the same price as a Les Paul Standard. I couldn’t afford to buy one.
When we started production, we decided to make the nicest and best playing guitar we could. It would have been easy to go to a Chinese factory and make a $300 Omega but the quality is all over the place and we just wouldn’t have been that happy with it. The factory we are working with is one of the best in the world so naturally their prices are higher. We spec’d the new Omega like we would spec a high end USA made guitar with an Ebony fretboard, real MOP inlays, TonePros bridge and tailpiece and TonePros Kluson Deluxe tuning machines. We even spec’d the thickness of each of the layers of binding, 7-ply on the body and 5-ply on the headstock.
We will be producing other models over the next few months. We are currently working on an Invicta, some Phoenix basses and Phoenix guitars, some of which will be at lower price points. One thing we are happy to announce, besides finally getting everything up and running, is our very first endorser. It’s Dink Cook and he is the bass player for Toby Keith’s Easy Money Band. They are going out on tour next month. We are building Dink a 6 string neck through the body Phoenix bass. You can see some pics of the build on the custom shop page or on our Facebook page. Thanks! Ben

1981 Price List Scan:

http://www.rivercityamps.com/electrapag ... 216-031024

I only see two examples that 'List' for over $600...

Regardless, I'm confident that these are quality instruments, and it will be really cool to see the Wave headstock being used by current artists. Good luck.

It will be cool to see Electra on a major stage again. Wish you the best Ben! You know you'll get nothing but support from us.

Can't wait to see an Endorser.
