I sent Proendorser's posting to my wife and got this back

"OK guitar playing men - two can play this game. Your wives and girlfriends NEED shoes. Now of course nobody could dispute that each woman needs sneakers and black pumps and other essentials. And we women will grant you that you 'need' those guitars in the first category cited. Afterall, we love you. But we demand equal rights in storage space. So let's see. I think each guitar equals 3 pair of shoes (2 if boots). So when you smile and say 'Honey please . . .' we will say 'sure!' and head out for a pair of Manolo Blahniks, a pair of Fendis and a pair of Jimmy Choos. I think we will both be happy - as long as we can still pay rent."

Since we are alowed the ones from the essentials list I am now in the market for a hollowbody :D Since with the exception of my APII bass (which I had when we met) all my guitars cost less than the shoes listed, I think my price limit just whent up :rofl:

Ooooh, now hang on; we're GASsing after relatively cheap Japanese guiatars, not a 1948 Broadcaster or a 1956 Strat, so in the interests of fairness, I would suggest that a more modest line on shoes.... like Adidas or Shoe Warehouse! :rofl:

Well, I do have a few guitars, but for me the weakness is amps.

1974 Vibrolux Reverb
1960 Fender Concert
1965-ish Vox Pathfinder
1965 Vox AC-30
1972 Hiwatt DR103
1967 Silvertone 1484
197? Silvertone XL10
199? Crate Vintage Club prototype
1968 Custom Kraft
Marshall 4x12
custom 1x12
Fender Vibratone

But I like to have interesting gear around the studio for clients to use when recording. Always good to have amp options. Many times the guitar player in the band doesn't have a good acoustic, so it's nice to have some extra stuff around to spark some creative tones.

Oh yeah, I always keep a baritone uke in the control room. If nothing else it's just hilarious to hear Led Zep riffs on it.

That's quite the lineup, like the brown Fenders, and I bet that Hiwatt is cool. Now I don't feel so bad that I've kept my amps all these years!

Reissue of a Classic 50's axe you'd never be able to afford (look hon, faded paint job!)
Guitar that relative gives you when their son loses interest (gee thanks Aunt Mary) Check
Guitar that you paid next to nothing for at a garage sale (all it needs is a bridge!) Check
Guitar Identical to your best player (two is better than just one... right?) looking for it
...
Project guitar that you find on eBay that you still haven't finished (hey all it needs is pickups and hardware...) Check
Kitchy European that you find on eBay while searching for something completely different (whoa I've never seen anything like it, It'll make a great 'Surf' guitar) Check
Guitar you buy to smash in your low budget Music Video, but then end up keeping when your lead vocalist wigs out and becomes a pacifist ('nuff said) Check


Add to that pre-1950s acoustic guitar your brother found at a garage sale that's perfect for Delta blues stuff, and Guitar set up for Nashville Tuning...

All told I think I have about a dozen and a half guitars and a dozen amps. If I wasn't trying to save money...

The Hiwatt can sterilize you at 30 paces! It's not a wonder that Townsend went deaf. Amazing tone, but you've got to really crank the volume up to get tone happening.
