I have a plethora of these modules if anyone needs one. I can't hold onto these for long. Next weekend they'll start to hit the auction sites.
Power OD's $45 shipped
Phase shifters $55 shipped

PM me if you want one

I also have 1 of each that are working but not completely as they should. Neither are dead. The phase shifter just goes'nt seem to get as intense as some of the other phase shifters I have and the Overdrive seems to do it's overdrive thing but cuts a small bit of volume instead of increasing like all the others I have - this one is real good candidate for a Thorny mod.
Make me an offer on these.

FWIW - For some reason it seems that modules were not created equal. Each one of these act just a little different in my MPC guitars. All the POD's and Phasers are similar to each other within their respective groups, but they all voice themselves just a bit differently. It is most pronounced with POD's

Also interesting re: POD's are the weight variations. Most weigh 2.3 ozs. but some weigh 1.2 ozs. The "potted" POD's weigh 3.2 ozs. I find this to be really odd. Anyone know why? Phase Shifters all weigh 2.8 ozs.

Late answer for you.

Power overdrives in the beige plastic cases are usually potted inside with a waxy substance. It is softer than the "brick" solid versions, and it can be removed with some effort unlike the solid versions that are very tough to do anything. Sometimes the plastic boxes are filled to the top, sometimes they are filled half to 3/4s of the way. It varies some, and enough to make a difference in weight. I bet that may be why you are experiencing different weights. The circuitry in the PODs does not vary really, and component differences will not account for the differences in weight.

The beige potted one I have is 3.2 ozs. it works fine. I have 2 @ 2.3 ozs that are not working correctly, 1 @ 1.2 oz that works well, and I have 2 Thorny mods one is 2.3 and one is 1.2.

I can't say I hear a difference between potted/unpotted but then again I hear no difference with the Electra supercharge/not supercharges either.

No difference in sound between potted modules vs. unpotted. It probably was probably thought to make them more reliable, and at the time possibly to add weight to them and to keep prying eyes out. Back then people equated "light" with "cheaply made". Telephones were made with big heavy weights in the base and weight in the handset to make them feel more substantial. My how times have changed.
