Hi,

I am brand new to this site and would like to offer my X350L for sale to someone who would appreciate it.

I was given the guitar in December 1997 as I was beginning to learn how to play and a family member found it for me. I think that it is a great looking guitar, but I have not played in years. This instrument has just been sitting in the case (soft) for the past decade plus and I think someone on this forum may be able to enjoy it more and get some use out of it.

The last time that I used it everything worked perfectly. It has the 'overdrive' and 'treble/bass expander' modules for the MPC. I believe they work, but do not have a way to test them anymore as I don't have and amp. The body is in extremely good shape with very few and very minor dings and scratches. There are a few very minor scratches on the back where a belt would have come into contact, but they are only visible when you hold the guitar at an angle and look into the clear coat.

The neck looks very good both front and back with mother of pearl inlays in the fretboard. Pickups show some wear, it looks like the finish has rubbed off some. I don't even know if these are original pickups or not. The tuning knobs have clearly been replaced with Grover tuners. That was done before I had the guitar.

All the knobs and dials are in place in great condition.

The kicker is that the instrument is left-handed. I do know that means that they are more rare, but also realize that not many people play left handed.

If anyone knows someone that is interested in this instrument and will give it a good home I am willing to sell it. I just think that it should be had by someone who appreciates the guitars and don't want to see it sit around my closet anymore. Pics attached. Please let me know if you have any questions via email. jpark76@hotmail.com

Thanks,
Jason

Where are the left-handers??

Do you have price range in mind you care to list?

Sweeeet! I like the reversed headstock too. It looks to be in super condition, everything seems stock to me except the aforementioned tuners... a real rare find. Hopefully there are some left handed lurkers that will take you up on your offer. Good luck, Mike.

I 'm thinking of switching to playing left-handed. It can't hurt.

I really do not know what the price range is or should be. I have seen wildly varying prices on right handed guitars, but am not sure how that translates for a lefty??

Any help determining a fair price would be appreciated.

Thanks

Gawd is that sweet! Almost makes me wish I was left handed.

Tough row to hoe on figuring a price point. Rarer due to the left hand build, but your available pool of prospective buyers is much smaller so it sorta cancels out any premium you might be able to ask for it. The Grovers are nothing to quibble over really either.

Who has that link to the spreadsheet on prices paid?

Jead?...

I did some comparison between right handed and left handed guitar prices by looking up some guitars on southpawguitars.com and then looking up prices for the same guitar (right handed) via google.

Mexican Fender Telecasters, for example, seem to have a similar prices for both left and right handed examples. Pretty much the same for something like the Eastwood guitars. Prices seem to be -10/+15% relative to right hand examples.

For Electra MPC reference, search ebay for "electra mpc" then select "show completed auctions, then sort by "price: highest to lowest." Only items shown in green actually sold. That's about the best available reference of actual transactions.

Aside from these guidelines you'll simply have to negotiate with the prospective buyer(s).

I appreciate the info. I also used southpaw as a reference and after checking ebay it still seems like it is a bit of a crapshoot. The sold guitars on there go from between $175 for a stripped down project to $675 for a really nice looking x720.

There is not much to go on so I am going to have to rely on advice from people on this site. I would like to get $400 for the guitar. If that price seems way out of line I would gladly take advice and alter the price if I can see some evidence to that point.

I have already been contacted by a member of this forum and will give them first right to it if he/she is interested. I have emailed them.

Please let me know if anyone else has any information or comments for me. I appreciate it.

$400 sounds like a DEAL to me. In theory you'd think that the Lefties would go for more just because of how rare they are (I can't remember ever seeing a left handed MPC!!). However there just aren't as many left handed players, so that whole demand thing works its way into the equation.

It's in wonderful shape, and rare, it may take time, but I'm confident a buyer will emerge. Good luck, Mike.
