Hey everyone,

I 'inherited' an Electra x270 about a year ago from a friend who had played it a little bit for concerts, but when he moved to a different state he gave it to me to mess around with. I haven't been gigging much for a little while now and I've hardly had a chance to mess around with this guitar. It seems to work fine, except it has a bit of a buzzing/scratching every now and then when playing - I took it in to get it looked at and they told me that it was just because it had sat around for so long without being played (I don't think my friend played it for awhile before he gave it to me). Other than that, there are some dings on the exterior on the edges and it's currently missing a tone knob but I could get one to add on.

I'm not totally sure what these are worth, because I could only find an x250 model on ebay for ~$350 the other day. I'd assume this would hold a similar value (everything seems to work fine outside of the minor scratching sound that shows up due to the dust mentioned above). The Power EQ/Boost (I believe that's what's in this model) is pretty awesome and seems to work fine. I don't have a case for it though, so would figure out the best way to ship (with tons of bubblewrap and anything else needed). I'm sure that most of you know more about this guitar than I do, but I can do some more research into it if you'd like. I've also got pictures of the guitar if you're interested - looking either for advice on how to sell this, how to price it, or if someone's interested, I'd sell it to someone on here (knowing that this forum is meant for people who truly appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of these guitars).

Thanks in advance for help, advice, or interest.

Jon

Welcome jon! Of course there is interest here in the x270. Now, as far as yours ...

Some pictures will be very helpful to the rest of us in order to get a better idea of how interested we should get.

Here you guys go - it took me awhile (and some help from Joe) in order to figure out how to get the pictures posted:

Ahh, that makes sense. Here are some links:

Hopefully those work, if not let me know. Also, you might notice in one of the pictures that one of the pickups is missing a screw - I just ordered a screw for that the other day so that I can get that fixed and as mentioned in my first post, could also get a knob for that missing tone knob too if you wanted. Let me know if those images don't work and I'll give it another shot.

For some reason, this one didn't add:

Also, I changed out the end pins for the straps because the screws for those were a bit bent, but I've kept the original endpins and can put those back in (or send along) if wanted.

Missing the 3 way switch tip? Also are there a couple replacement bridge saddle screws? Overall, the guitar looks to be pretty well used - which is my nice way of saying a bit banged up - but still solid. No case will hurt the re-sale a bit I think. Depending on shipping cost I would think you'd be in the lower end of the price range. I'd guess $250 +/- $50 - that being said, I still think the powered EQ models are pretty unique and versatile guitars.

Thanks Jead,

It definitely did get banged up a bit by its previous owner and I'm trying to kind of bring it back to life. Thanks for helping with letting me know roughly what it's worth and for the advice. It is missing the 3-way switch tip, but I'm also likely going to get one of those, unless someone would buy as-is. I also think the powered EQ is pretty unique, I had actually never heard of such a thing built into guitars until messing around with this one and learning more about it. Thanks again for the advice and help :)

also, for shipping, I live in the Mpls, MN area so if anyone that might be interested lives close we could probably work out an arrangement there to help with not having to ship without a case. That being said, I'm not sure if anyone else on this forum lives around the area - just tossing it out as an idea :)
