Well boys I didn't see this one coming but I am going to put the first Electra I ever purchased up for an auction. A bit of a long story but here goes...

One of my employees in my department has a fiancee whose son (and fiancee) were in a bad motorcycle accident back in early June. Neither of them has health insurance so there is going to be a benefit / fundraiser in their small town to raise funds for the hospital bills they are struggling to pay. I volunteered to donate this guitar to an auction that will be held along with a bake sale, spaghetti feed, beer bust and dance on the 15th of this month. Here is where you guys come in...

If any of you have an interest in lending charitable hand I would be willing to act as a proxy at this auction for you. You can PM me with your top bid amount and I will pledge to double it if your bid amount wins the guitar. If it somehow goes for a ridiculously low winning bid I will still donate my half anyway and refund any amount back to the winner over say... $200.

I think that the guitar will go up as a "silent" lot but if they put it in as a live item it would make no difference. I would also pick up whatever the shipping costs would work out to be to send it along to you.

Nobody has to reply in this thread publicly unless they have questions. I will hold any bids in strict confidence should that be requested.

This would be an opportunity to pick up what we all know is a solid guitar and also help out a very solid guy who has people near and dear to him in a spot of sincere and serious need.
