Good morning everybody.....I'm askin for money, good ole spendin money....mucho, mucho mula! Lookin for donations, takin up a collection, beggin. If you got any to spare, I'd appreciate the gift....a lot.

Just kiddin really. BUT....The wife has decided that she wants to "MOVE TO FLORIDA", and since I don't really care where I live....I expect I'll become a FLORIDIAN sometime soon. One of our sons and his wife are already in the Destin area, but I think that we want to go a bit further south. We'll be lookin a 55+ community :toopid:

So....I'm lookin to sell my little collection off, and I figger I'll need around 300,000.00 to make the move in a somewhat comfortable manner. Any takers on that there amount? :hyper:

Anyway, most of my guitars are in very good condition or better, some kinda rare, and not all of them are Electras. Also have a lot of parts...some Electra, some 70's Japanese, lots of generic later American stuff....like Fralins, etc. Lots of MPC modules....around 20 or so. Four amps.

SOOOOOO.....Have a look at my collection, my friends, and if you see anything that you'd like to add to yours, shoot me a PM and I'll give you a price shipped from the beautiful Crystal Coast of the great state of North Carolina. That price will be the average current going (selling) rate that I see on eBay, Craigslist, the Electra spreadsheet, etc. I won't add any extra charges for the dust and fingerprints that you'll get also. Most of these have hardcases, but I'll have to let you know in the PM as I get the chance to look through them.

Hope to hear from all you deep pocket guys....that means all of you.

jd

It is a sad time that several of our better members here have to part with their collections. What is even worse is that I don't have the cash to scoop up some of these. Good luck on your sale JD.

The link is where it says "JD's Electras". (Embedded in the signature line).

Love your you tube site. I just want to know, can you get a good clean sound out of any of your humbucker equipped Electra's? I've had two, a 310 and a 940 and both have pickups that distort at any volume and I don't mean like bad pickups or wiring. Do you just have to turn down the volume to get clean or did I just get two with hot pickups. I sold the 940 baseball bat and put 490/498 in the 310 and much happier even though the bridge is higher ohms. Please respond to my pm. thanks

Tone is subjective, thus the array of pickup manufacturers and types available. I rarely change the pups in my collection guitars.....sometimes pot 'em if they squeal a lot...but mostly I just roll back on the volume and tweak my amps till I find a sweet spot to accent the current setup. There have been days that I hot rodded everything I used....but that creates an entirely new character for the instrument which doesn't satisfy me in the long haul. I'll have to say that I've learned to appreciate the characteristics of each instrument as designed and built.
