I am about to pick up another bass guitar, I have never played a fretless before, I was going to defret my oldest Westy 1 Bass until I found this baby.

I felt a bit bad about even contemplating removing old Westy 1's frets, so now old Westy's gonna get new frets.(eventually)

Here she is, a proper Westone Thunder 1-A fretless, and not a defret-less if you know what I mean. There is a few dings on the body but hey when you pay £83 quid($151) and she's 20 years old I can't complain.

You can't be lazy with your fingering on a fretless, the guide dots on the side of the fingerboard are on the frets not between them.

Does it have the same kind of markings as the Spectrum LX fretless? (White dots for the normal positions - 3, 5 7, 12 etc, red dots for all the other frets)

I have a defretted Thunder IA, as I'd never played fretless before having the dots on the neck and being able to see where the frets used to be made the transition from fretted to fretless surprisingly easy

No, it just has white dots for the normal positions, but I suppose I could add them if I wanted, plus at the moment it has a horrible set of big gold round wounds that create to much finger noise, the intonation is out as well, I will probably fit it with nickel half-wound(groundwound) strings, Mmmm It is a lovely slab of rosewood though.
