There are actually two different guitar brands that used the name Greco: Hershman used the name Greco to set its electric guitar line apart from the Goya classical guitar line. But Greco was also the name of a japanese company which produced many 'entry-level' electric guitars from the early 70's onwards, produced by Fuji Gen Gakke which also made Ibanez and MIJ Fender guitars.

However it is the first, the Goya-Greco brands which this site area is intended to cover.

How to tell the difference? The Japanese Grecos are rarely seen in the US. Their Greco logo is an angular italic reminiscent of the Gibson logo. The Goya Grecos have a more rounded, handwriting-like font much like the Goya insignia.
