I've been looking for a Westone Dynasty for AGES. I live in England so it must be possible for it to be shipped here. I'd prefer it if it wasn't black but I'd still buy it if it were. Thanks.

Black ones are scarce here, but red ones are much more common. Red ok with you?

Dynastys are fantastic instruments, really well balanced and of course they play and sound great.

Red's more than great! Yeah, I fell in love with them when I first saw a picture and the specs since it's everything I want in a guitar.

Well actually there is another question- do you want one of the early dark green dynasties with straight arms, or the later red/black/white model with angled tips?

Aside from the body shape they are identical- and for the most part these are also identical to an Electra Phoenix X185 or X189, or later on the Westone Spectrum LX- H-S-H with coil tap, phase, and fat (center on). Really all superb guitars! The Dynastys have a different headstock and a slightly slimmer, slinkier neck.

The later model with angled tips if that's okay.

I've also seen them with two different types of whammy bars, one has a floating bridge with a locking nut and the other has a Fender strat style bridge. I don't really use the whammy bar much on guitars which have them anyway but is there much of an advantage with the locking nut one over the Fender style tremolo? You know, since the Fender one might go out of tune more often but with the floating one if you bend one note while playing another note the other note will go flat.

One more question i've been wondering about if you wouldn't mind. The three pots, is that two volumes and one tone or a master volume and two tones?

Thanks

There was a time (in the 80's) when you couldn't sell a guitar without a locking nut- everybody saw Van Halen dive bomb, so everybody thought they needed to do the same.

To be fair, the two-post bendmaster bridge is excellent and holds tune very well, with or without the locking nut. do you -need- it? Well, if you don't do deep bends, a strat-style bridge is fine too. Both take some care in setup and operation, but I'd say unless you expect to do wild whammy antics, it doesn't much matter.

The knobs are Volume, Tone, Tone. Plus the volume knob is a pull-switch for coil tap, the first tone is a pulls witch to turn the middle pickup on, and the other tone knob is a pull switch to phase reverse teh bridge pickup. Very versatile wiring and superb pickups.

Anyway, if I recall correctly I may have two Red Dynastys, I'll check and let you know- if I have a spare I don't mind shipping to the UK.

Okay, I have another guitar with a locking nut so I suppose if I wanted to do the crazy whammy bar noises I could just switch to that so one without a locking nut is fine. Oh cool, that wiring sounds pretty awesome.

Okay thank you very much. How much would you want for it?

Just what I paid for it which is 175$ for the red one. But let me find it in storage here first and then we'll talk details over PM.
