Latest Update: UltimaX960 has looked over his options and is interested in restoring the 2257 (or is it 2207?) Hollow Body Project into a usable instrument once again. This is another one that I couldn't have predicted, so maybe I should just stop predicting. I guess it's like the grand prize going later than expected, you can't always tell what gets somebody's heart going. I guess X189 was right, everybody wins!

He says he has a buddy who is a luthier, and another friend at Stu Mac, so he's much more confident than I would be. Hopefully he'll post to this thread once he receives it and tell us what he's going to do with it. Congratulations Ultima.

Stop the presses- there are MORE PROJECT GUITARS. Worse ones!

I was cleaning junk and fire hazards out of the studio... No! I mean, looking through the archive at project guitars that deserved a second chance... pictures to come.

Yes, this means there will be more winners!

I know I already got a prize but if anyone feels any of the projects are to "difficult" or out of there means. I really enjoy spending time in my friends lutherie it's such a cool building (it's an old 1900's fraternal order of odd fellows building) I'm new to this but am up for challenges to get better. So keep my in mind if there are some real charity cases. But only if someone else doesn't want them. Heres a myspace and an under construction site for my buddy's place in beautiful Southern Ohio.

Looking thru the photos of the guitars brought in, They all looked real clean but my favorite would be Robot dr's X110. I thought it was real cool.

Also If I could ask Red eye, does your X310 have a brass or plastic nut? Do you have the magnaflux or the super mags in yours, and are they shielded? I know some of this should be in the catalog but some changes may or may not be in there.

Latest Update: Workingman (accomplished Bass player) has picked the loose Westone Bass Neck. Another great choice. He tells me that he has a bass with a hinky neck, and this could solve it's problem. This was another item I predicted may be available to the end... just goes to prove if you get enough players together, even the least likely thing could be a treasure to one of them!

Part II:

SLMguy has picked the X175 projects! A number of people commented that you could conceivably get two working guitars out of this, I hope he does. He told me that he was intrigued by the 12 string, but already owns a nice one. Just to illustrate that even this late in the draft people are agonizing over these choices.

Part III:

RockinElectra has chosen the newly added X185 project for restoration... did I see a set of MMK45's thrown in there... yikes. He tells me that he'd like to clean it up and show it off at next years event (has it been announced already... man!) so this is what is left:

Aria Pro RS Project (see forum topic, this is new...)
Vantage 12 string
EH Octave Box
Boss AC2 Box
Alesis FX Box

Yikes, I thought we were finally chipping away at the list man!! It never ends!

JMM the ball is in your court!

This has been a great event, I really appreciate everyones kind words and support, after planting the seed of this idea last year, I was skeptical of it's success, well this will be about the 14th time I've been proven wrong about this gathering, and already people are talking about next year, kinda gives me the shivers... thanks everyone, I'm very humbled by your support, Mike.

Brass nut, magnaflux PUs, not shielded as far as I know, but I would have to look again to be sure.

Both of Robot_dr's guitars were sweet. Reminded me that I never should have let my 189 go......sniff....

I think you had everyone's support on this event...just look at all the comments from everyone bummed that they couldn't make it. And Pro, not downin you at all, as you did a great job with six weeks notice, but if we can get a date set for next year sooner, I predict we would probably need a much larger facility to hold everyone...can't wait, oh, and Corsair, maybe you'll be in the states by then too :yeah:

Larger facility... This was kind of a junk shoot for me, as it was it was perfect, but if Ten collectors would have showed up, yeah, it would have been chaos here, I just couldn't have guaranteed security or even a place for everyone to sit down at... we would have had to draw straws to jam!

Honestly, it was really cool to have the time and space to really talk and get to know the guys, and future events will probably be more rushed and well, disorganized, I guess that's the price to be paid for success. But I'm still on that 'new guitar' rush, so lets not talk about downers!

Just wanted to say thanks for the 175's. I wont let you down with the project 189. They found a good home. Any one have a spec. sheet on this thing?

Good luck to the rest of you in the draw. Theres still a lot of cool stuff.
And thanks again to all of you who made the fest happen. You did good. Real good.

Update: JMM has chosen the Boss AC-2 Acoustic Simulator for his pedal rig, he likes the Boss line and thinks he can also utilize the signal splitting capability, good deal!

I shipped out the Futura to Beaten Phoenix, X-175 projects to SLMguy and the Hollow Body project to UltimaX960 this morning before work, you guys should see those show up next week. Still looking for a box for that Bass Neck, sorry Workingman, I'll get that out soon enough.

Heres what's left for RCSBlues:

Aria Pro Project
EH Octave Box
Alesis FX Box
Vantage 12 string (hmm, still available?)

RCSblues just messaged me, he wants that Alesis FX box, so it'll get out to him soon as I recover. MortarMan, you've been very patient! Here's what is still available:

Electro Harmonix Octave Multiplier Box
Vantage 12 string
Aria Pro Project (see new topic about that)

Good luck and congratulations, Mike.
