My Vulcan has the extra beveling on the neck as it tapers to the body and I really love that. Did any other models have this feature?

I've seen it called a 'scooped heal'. The Outlaw is scooped, as are the Endorsers, which are basically the same guitar as the Vulcan, although the necks have different profiles. The X960 Ultima, X250, X260 (X260n) and X270 Walnut finish models have a smoothed off heal.

There may be other special neck joints, but most of the LP's have that chunky set neck thing going on at the junction. Mike.

To be more specific, the Vulcan's neck actually gets much fatter as it gets closer to the body- a feature my Outlaw and Invicta do not have. The advertising info for the Vulcan in Electra brochures mention this "extra beveling" as a way to play higher on the neck more comfortably.

In 86 Spectrum FX's, the only set neck phoenix, also had a similar heel.

It only gets fatter right where the neck meets the body. I really like it. People that play my Vulcan always mention it first thing and always say that they are surprised that the idea isn't more prolific.
