A Pro Endorser (I believe) with Reserve

This one appears to be a little bit more the worse for wear than the $1,000 offering but too bad, IMHO.

Any thoughts/comments on this one?

I saw this one and if the price stays low it might be a keeper. I am not certain on the electronics since the pups have been changed out. With a little work and TLC might turn out OK.

I'm not totally sold on the Lace Sensor 'upgrade' either. I'd be curious if the coiltap/phase got connected up properly, or at all. Seller has done a pretty good job of showing the dings and scratches and is not trying to conceal anything. June 1983 build, sixteen serial numbers away from my wide flame Endorser. Seems that about 40% of the Cherry Endorsers I've noted were made in May or June of 1983 (not scientific), good stuff.

The Endorsers are great guitars and speak for themselves regardless of wear, if you're looking for a museum piece however, this isn't it. Good luck.

Both these guitars have PLENTY of dings and flaws, but people don't see them from more than 24" away. What they see is a over the top Flame that is just shy of looking liquid, and then they hear it wailing through a tube amp (recommended environment, past clipping, power tube saturation) any warts become invisible.

Remember that these first appeared in late '82... years before Paul Reed Smith would build his first Flametop. The wide flame, almost quilt top Endorsers get all the attention, but I see these two side by side often and find myself really smitten with the thin flame. It has this almost third color that is constantly shifting as the guitar angle changes.

And then there's the belly cut and scooped out heal on the back, these guitars are Comfy. Belt buckle Rash? Yeah, if a guitar plays good, it's probably gonna be played A LOT. A perfect finish is nice and all, but I let the guitar talk for itself. Wood that has been vibrated often and regularly (especially over the course of like 25 years...) will resonate different than a guitar thats been in a case 98 percent of it's life, if ya know what I mean.

The guitar in the auction just needs a pair of MMK45's and to be rewired from what I can see (finding White ones may be tough!). Could be a real player if it doesn't get bid up. My first (um, 2nd and 3rd...) Electra was an Endorser.

This one ended at $500, which is more than I would have predicted. Both my completely stock ones went for considerably less than that two and five years ago... curious. Oh, and it looks like 'someone' picked up that really nice one down in Cin city for a grand, yikes.

You really can't go wrong with the Endorser. On the surface it looks like a nicely appointed LP and with, considering other Electra offerings, familiar controls. But then you add the push/pull functionality, the scooped out heal and thin comfortable neck... well, I've never yearned for a Gibson since.

I thought it was a little pricey, but you just dont see them all that often-this is , with out a doubt, the best constructied guitar Electra offered-hands down.

This guitar is in better condition than the Auction "reads" and-besides- I have a pair of cream bobbin MK 45's (held on to them for over 5 years !)just itching to complete this guitar!

This is my 4th Cherry Pro endorser (only 19 guitars behind another Cherry burst in my collection)...I also own 3 of the trans black Pro Endorsers....

Great guitars and worth every penny-but I fear the days of the $300 Pro Endorser are over (I paid LESS than $300each for 4 of the 7 that I own !)

Good deal Dave, and you just happen to have a pair of creme MMK45's? That's way cool man. Take the time to wax them before you install them. That is my only issue with these Japanese pickups, that they just squeal too much at stage volumes (well, when you play as overdriven as I like that is) because they aren't sealed. You should line them up and post a few pictures of your collection some time. You know we love to see lots of Electras standing tall together. Enjoy, Mike.

Here is my one and only:

1978 Ibanez Musician MC300NT with gold locking tuners and brass ingot under the bridge - just like an Electra; also bone and brass nut, 24 frets - and HEAVY as heck - purchased new in 1981; look at that brass back plate; pictures taken last year:

I do have a modest collection of Ibanez guitars (My handle is Dave_G on that other board)....not much of a Musician fan (bad back), but I do own several examples-I collect all of Uncle Matts efforts. The MC300 does not have Active electronics (each pup is split with "trisound" switches)..the MC400 has the on board EQ + Boost as well as the top ot the line MC500...

RCS...what happened to the output jack on your guitar ?

When I first looked at the pic, the jack looked like it was missing-just a hole....I adjusted the brightness on my screen and I can see it was jsut the flash that made it look weird-very nice MC399, I dig "blondes"
