Well it seems that I get the Electra fever in pairs now.The Elvin and X410 in December and now for January these two. A X189RB and a X165GR. I will be posting some additional photos in another topic as I have never owned or played a Phoenix model before and have some tech questions. Enjoy the pics

These models play very nicely and have very fast necks and I am impressed with the tonal ranges they both produce. The X189 has been cleaned, setup, and has new strings in these pics and is in the best shape of the 2. The X165 still needs a cleaning but I have been playing it, but now it's time to clean it up. It needs a tip for selector switch and has 1 chip but other than that it is not bad. Thanks.

You'll love the Phoenixes. Highly underrated guitars

I was watching that olive green X165 which I think was listed a few times. I'm glad it got grabbed by a forum member. That (along with the X155) is one of the very few Phoenixs that have the standard 2vol/2tone setups, not sure if it has the push/pulls on the tone controls though.

The Phoenixs have really nice necks, which has been stated many times, but they seem smaller than a Fender to me and are real comfortable. Enjoy, Mike.

Yes the 165 does have the push pull pots(2) and they are a nice addition to the versatility of the guitar. Other than 1 chip and a few slight bumps and scratches it is in nice condition. It does not have the trem bar but I am a rhythm player so I like it OK without it. worked well as a hardtail when all 6 screws are tight.The volume from these pups is awesome.My son loves it for his drop d and drop C tunings. I prefer standard tuning myself. It has a nice solid body and the neck is very fast as you stated. Plays and sounds great. Thanks for the comments.

Re: the trems, I agree that strat-type trem do tend to drift a bit if you're hard on 'em - and who isn't! - and locking trems seem to be a lot more stable, if a PITA to re-string and intonate!!
My Westones have the Bendmaster Deluxe which is also a very good, stable trem.... Oddly enough, though, the X195 has had a Wilkinson 5+1 dropped in and it seems very good indeed; mind you, I've set the action up VERY carefully indeed and lubed the nut slots etc!!
