No one mentioned anything about this one on the Auction Watch at all.. think it was worth it? It had nearly 600 views on it when I picked it up at BIN. I hope I didn't ruin anything that someone was watching on here? Anyway, he called it a 2227..... but? I dunno... I guess I just decided to take a chance on it.

4 Electras for under $750, total, makes my headspin.... now, all I need is the flying wedge and I have my dream line-up!

Looks more like a 2228 sunburst to me, but the finishes weren't super consistent in that era. I believe those guitars are total Hollowbodies, unlike the Custom Pros, Maple Pros, Elvins and Jazz strads which are semi's. This is why it has that floating bridge.

The reoccurring theme we hear about these is that the neck pocket will 'warp' causing the neck angle to change (not to get you worried as you wait for it to arrive... sorry), it's not all of them for sure, but common enough to be noted. The other thing we see is that the pickups are sometimes actually single coils under there, despite the look of the metal pickup cover. Ok, one final thing, stay away from the vibrato unless you want to be tuning it constantly.

Four guitars this year huh? You need to take some family portraits and show off man. I almost hate to mention it, but you just missed a Flying Wedge on Craigs List (Ohio) with original case and pickups for $200. I contacted the guy, but it was already spoken for... Ah well, if I see another one, I'll give you first shot at it. Cheers, Mike.

Had this sent to Virginia Beach (going to be there for 7 days with the band for rehearsals before entering the studio) because I thought that it wouldn't get to me here in time... but lo-and-behold, the seller shipped it the same day I bought it and it made it to Virginia Beach without me there... so NOW I have to wait till tomorrow night to play it. So incredibly lame!
