Hey guys-I'm looking for a decent acoustic, finally wore out my old Ventura Bruno I've had for 20+ years-guess you could call it a fretless now! :P
I'm open to most anything, cosmetics are not important at all-needs to be a solid top,low and easy action. Archtop, flat top-either will work, vintage or newer.
I have several Electras or possibly a handmade custom for trade:
2264,2270c,2256,X280,X935 blackburst,several customs
Depending on what you have, one or a combination-PM me and we can try to work someting out  thanks,Joe

Why not just have your current acoustic re-fretted?

Unfortunately it would cost more to refret than its worth, laminated top, neck reset,etc.-but I'll keep it for sentimental reasons :)

Not mine, but these are typically pretty nice guitars:

That makes it a good candidate to try and do it yourself. There is a lot of good info at frets.com and at the project guitar forum.

Thanks Ultra-I saw that one,as a matter of fact I use to own it! Little too bright, but really decent guitars.
I found a Garrison at Metro pawn, picked it up for $90 plus tax! First one I had ever played, made in Canada eh-solid western red cedar top,one piece mahogany neck, solid birch back and sides. Had a couple of cracks in top(cedar tops are notorious for that),repaired and restrung-holy junk does it sound great :D . I hear they were bought by Gibson in 2007(shame),this one was built in 2004,Buzz Feiten tuning system, one piece glass fiber active bracing system,Fishman electronics-anyone else ever had any experience with these?

Joe

I wish the acoustic I have here was mine...I'd certainly trade it for an Electra!

Never heard of them, but that's a pretty fair amount of technology. Sounds interesting. Will you be stopping by for ElectraFest 2010? You're in the neighborhood...!

I've found Garrison(prior to aquisition)has a very devoted following, not unlike Electra. I would love to come to Electrafest, but I have no way to know if I will be on call on that date-I'll keep my fingers crossed! Joe
