All six one and a half cutaway Slab bodied X200 series here (not the Omega line...). Color a little washed out in this photo, but we have in the top row: X250, X260, X260n Bottom Row: X270, X280, X290

Just picked up this nice X260n Blond Invicta to round out the group, looks 100% original:

Has the rare white knobs, chrome is in very nice shape:

Rene Lopez Sticker dated 8/82, six months after it was made, also still has the clear plastic on the control plate, which the sticker has unfortunately been stuck to:

Maple Fretboard and Maple capped headstock with the rarely seen Black Stencil Logo:

Here are both Invicta X260 variants, cosmetically different from the ground up:

I've really become fond of these models. Except for the X270, they all are well under 8 lbs, and have comfortable (smaller) profile necks with screaming MMK pickups. I used the Flame Walnut Invicta at a gig two weeks ago, and it's coming with me again tomorrow night (thanks Ozark!), if that is saying anything about their road-readiness. Here's the rundown of features for interested collectors:

X280 Workingman - Walnut Stained, Ash/Maple (sometimes Mahogany) Plank body, Bolt-on Neck. 2 Vol/2 Tone setup, cool pickup switch placement, plastic nut. MMK pickups with single lead, so no coiltap switch.

X290 Workingman - Black Finish, Mahogany plank body, Bolt-on Neck, Plastic Nut (usually listed for $10 to $20 more on price list than X280)

X260 Invicta - Walnut Stain, early models have super thin Flame Maple vaneer top on Mahogany body, later would come with Ash/Maple planks, Five Piece Maple Set neck (some early models have Mahogany necks), smooth heal, Brass Nut, 1 Vol, 2 Tone, Multi lead MMK's with coiltap switch. Control indicator dots near knobs.

X260n Blond Invicta - Natural Ash/Maple Plank body, Maple set Neck, Maple cap on Headstock, Maple Fretboard, Brass Nut, Creme Pickups, surrounds and selector Switch, Same Electronics as above.

X250 Powered Invicta - Walnut Stain, Ash/Maple plank body, 5 piece maple set neck, Brass Nut, 18 volt preamp on board - 1 vol, 1 tone in passive, 1 vol, 1 treble boost/cut, 1 bass boost/cut 1 active volume in Active. Coilcut, Phase and active on Switches.

X270 Powered EQ - Walnut Stain, Ash/Maple Laminated body, poly clearcoat, 5 piece maple set neck, Brass Nut, Brass Bridge, 18 volt preamp 1 vol, 1 treble/bass, 1 active volume in Active. Coilcut, Phase and Active on Switches. Here's another picture with the flash:

I paid less than $325 for every one of these gems, so there are still deals to be had out there, and a steal for 30 year old Japanese guitars. Think of what you can get for three bills these days... a new Epiphone, a Mexican Fender maybe... now think which you'd rather gig with? I'm gonna have a great weekend guys, Cheers!! Mike.

They look great together. These are awesome gig guitars. lightweight, well balanced, great tone and power to spare. The X260N looks great. Glad it worked out for you. Enjoy. Arthur

That is a nice collection. Hmm I haven't played my X290 in a while. Have to give it a whirl.
