Hey, In the local corner music store, I found a Electra-Westone! 2 Singles ! Hum, Cheapie Tremelo, and 1 volume & 2 Tone Controls. It also has 2 push/pull pots. Neat little toy. I'll include the serial # tomorrow when I pick it up. Any info out there?

Also, I found another Westone, but this one has a graphite neck licensed by Modulus. Again, any info out there? Thanx.

The Electra/Westone that I picked up for my friend, is finally in my grubby paws! I doubt that he will ever get it. I kinda like it. Serial # 4050884. A question though. What is the body made of? I get the impression that it's soft Japanese maple, but I could be mistaken. (The finish is pewter)
And I figured out the push/pull knob configuration. A factory wiring that is good in concept, but alas, doesn't work in the real world. The first tone control is a switch that supposedly turned the neck and mid pickups into a split coil humbucker. (Ala the Bill Lawerence pickups on the '73 Gibson Maurader. -Oops, bad speller here.) The second control, is the semi-standard coil tap for the bridge humbucker.
The only thing that truly is a disappointment on this guitar, are the pickups. Hum monsters  . Ah well, time to hit the used parts drawer. Thanks for the time, and the address to your site. I believe it's one of the Phoenix X160/165/or a 175. I'll get some photos for you as soon as I can. Again, thanks a lot

Thank you for the advice of wax dipping the Pickups. (I've done it in the past. Not fun. :( )Personally though, since the guitar isn't really mine, I'm going to to do as my friend wishes, and turn it into a blues beastie. I'm going with the EMG 89 series of pickups, with a simple switch that allows neck and bridge, and all pickups, on at the same time. (I call it the 7 way option.) Again, thanks for the help.

Obviously I'm a Vantage-o-phile but I saw something that you all seem up un that was new to me today. A Westone Electra or was it the other way around serial # started with a 4 and the neck plate said Made in Japan this thing had dings and scratches in keeping with something 20 years old and it played good kind of a pewter to blue/green tealish metalic color, 3 pickups I'm trying to recall I think that they were either 2 singles with a HB in the middle or the opposite no signs of having been modified in that area asking $140.00 (U.S.D.) no case or bag though. What do you folks think, should I nab this? I'm thinking maybe selling it for a gain on Ebay if the margin is good enough.

I think I've got the same exact model as mentioned above. It says Electra/Westone on the headstock, and says Made in Japan on the neckplate. Serial #4050676. I managed to pick it up at a local record store for $65. It's in decent shape, missing a couple screws here and there, no big deal. It's got two humbuckers and a single in the middle. One volume knob and two tone knobs. All are push/pull pots. Lead/rhythm switch. It appears as though it had a pickguard at one point in time, but had been removed. That left some noticeable body damage, screw holes, etc. Looks like a 'candy red' finish. The electronics look as though they could use a little cleaning. But overall they don't look bad.

If you can give me anymore information, or correct me where I'm wrong, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm also interested in possibly selling it. I'll post some pictures as soon as I can get them taken. If you have any question reply on this board, or feel free to e-mail me at zzgbdude@yahoo.com

I thank you kindly for your time.
