Nice job looks good again. These are awesome players but are on the heavy side but worth the weight as they produce awesome tone.

Last time I had a humbucker in a bass was my T-40 back in late 70's
I love the thump you can get out of them.
And noodling around with it last night, selecting position 5, all kinds of nice clear harmonics up and down the fingerboard.
Im still discovering tone possibilities on this.
Again, what a bass.
Unique in every sense.
I was thinking about using it as trade bait for a T-40 before, but have rethought that after getting the electronics right.

I have a near mint nice T-40 Natural finish and yes it weighs about 1lb more than the outlaw and also has great tonal ranges but I like the Outlaw much better as it also has the MPC effects and great tone as well. Both are great heavyweight players guranteed to wear you out after about 3 sets but worth it no less. Enjoy

The desire for a T-40 is a nostalgic.
I'm very intimate with them as I gigged it for years and have never had a better bass.
Im very sorry to have let it slip away.
The only trade bait I found with a T-40 was less than decent in my opinion.
Someone had cut a battery hole in the back of the body at one time and the electronics had to be taken back to original.
Not a trade candidate for this bass at all.

Now a T-40 in pretty decent shape with case would be what I call a pretty even swap, given the unique nature of this Outlaw with case and functional modules.

As always, feedback is welcomed and appreciated.

I only offered because a friend of mine has an '83 T40 for sale, it's natural finish with black pickguard... not sure if he has a case or not...

and I can get it for less than half of what I would expect to pay for an Outlaw bass...

Jeff, T-40s are pretty inexpensive, if you sold the Outlaw you could buy two or three of them. Hold on to the Outlaw and just go buy a T-40.

As I've always purchased a bass for function, not as a collector, I decided to trade for something good and functional, something that could be replaced easily if stolen while playing out.
I have a trade in the works for an as new 2010 Fender Jazz, Black with MAPLE fretboard.
I know i'll get flamed but I wanted to aquirewould use daily, at a live practice, playing out, etc.
The outlaw would sit most of the time as it is a novelty to me, not a daily player.
Ive always wanted a Fender Jazz in this configuration, so thats my direction.

Well if that works for you and you like to play it then no problems. I would have kept her but thats just me. Keep on rockin
