Waiting for sometime for one to enter the market again got so frustrating, plus Arthur had a really nice looking jazzbox available around 6 months ago and I was severely tempted to pull the trigger then.

It was worth the wait though. :up:

Google Image search for 775 maple guitar
it was the start of page 2...

I had been doing searches on 175 jazz greco and other variations on 175 jazz first...

I'll have you know, Mr. IcicleMan, in my great self-imposed expertudiness, I can even identify the other one !! That is the seldom seen in domestication captivity GuitarFish, a very rare denizitizen of the Great Barrier Riiif off western Australiana....(I think...) :roll: BTW, yours is sweet !!!

Yup. That is the "budget build" version of the same guitar. The differences are in some of the materials...pearloid fret markers vs. inlayed MOP, plastic nut vs. brass, not certain about the pups vs. MMK53's, etc.

Otherwise in basic terms the same instrument. Many of these Ventura builds were not shortchanged in the lumber department either, as the one you linked clearly proves.

You made my day Jead. Even with shipping charges from England I still paid less than what that Ventura went for.

I believe you did extra extremely well then. I think the Ventura pickups, whatever they are, might have a hard time competing with MMK 53's. Your S2 looks quite bodacious Iceman. :up:
