I just can't get excited about the Goodwill auctions.

Three reasons.

1. They never seem to go for a "good" price, from a buyer's perspective (Mental obstacle: when I buy from Goodwill or Salvation Army, I expect to find a great deal).
2. I feel like the staff at Goodwill won't know how to treat a guitar (in my mind they won't respect it, maybe drop it, knock the head into stuff, dent it up on the floor or whatever), so that just scares me!
3. The staff may know nothing of guitars to begin with, so you could be getting something with a major structural flaw and not know it until it's too late!

On the other hand, I love the idea of supporting these organizations.

The fuzzy low quality photos and the listings saying cracks in neck scared me off.
