I think I am slowly becoming conditioned, but every time I see those pics I get a knot in my gut. I then remind myself that the new owner has worked miracles on it and it is once again a played and loved guitar.

Hats off to X189!

Played and loved indeed, i was just playing it this afternoon, and loving it!!

I've gotta hurry up and install a power on switch for the EQ, I'm tired of running the battery down :)

If it is forever on (not just when plugged in) have you considered a stereo output jack with the negative battery terminal wired to the stereo jack's "ring" lug?

yeah, i goofed up the registration at reranch so i use a different handle :)

stereo output jack with the negative wired to the ring lug... so as to make the output jack a switch? is that different from an output jack with a built-in switch?

I haven't yet, but frequent the reranch board. Mostly I haven't had occasion to refin anything, but that'll change, I've got a couple of projects that will need it. (how about a semi-hollow Futura with a natural wood finish? gotta find somebody with a band saw first though...)
