For anyone shipping this guitar, be advised that the original case is barely adequate and shipping without precaution places the guitar at risk. The heavy mahogany body combined with the light mahogany neck means that if the guitar lands on its head while being bounced around in the cargo hold of a plane (as they all do) the neck can easily snap. Even if the neck does not break, the neck is held in the case only at one point and because mahogany is softer than a maple neck, a blow can cause dents in the finish.

When shipping any guitar, use large bubble wrap to secure the neck and body. In this case it is arguable whether the guitar can safely be shipped in the original case at all, as adequate padding will prevent the lid from closing.
