it was white with red lightning bolt outlines. came with a hard shell case. $300.

just south of "O" street on 9th.

the pawn shop across the street, Royal Pawn, was closed, but they had a P-Bass copy that looked a lot like the early Electra that was on eBay recently... $139. too bad I got there 2.5 hours after they closed..;..

A little on the high end for a Dimension IV, they usually go for a hundred less... though the ability to see it firsthand first is always worth something.

Good price on the P-bass, you going back when they're open?

I wish I could go back. I'm leaving town tomorrow AM early and they are not open again until Monday when I'll be back in Des Moines....

hey, funny thing, i saw that guitar that you talked about two days before finding this page. i saw it and did some research on it, and thought it was a good guitar. so i bought it.
it costed me about 250 with hard shell case and cord. there are a few pros and cons with the guitar. i will get into them later if you want.

With case? Then the price is much better- Dimension IV cases are hard to come by. That plus the fact you could see it in person (not just in an ebay listing) makes it a good deal.

Dimension IV's are superb guitars, let us know what you think of it!

ok, so ive played it several times and i think its cool. really 80's...great stuff. and copy and past the link below for a few pics of the guitar. but here are the pros/cons of this guitars

CONS:
no locking nut, its gone
lots of stratches and dings, but nothing major
stupid lightning bolt on case, im gonna try to take that off.
low output of pickups
some rust on tremelo
white paint by bridge and on headstock
no whammy bar
smelled like smoke and very dirty and dusty

PROS:
awesome look, all my friends love the look, they're even jealous
cleaned up very nicely.
overall great buy. im in love with it and thats all that matters.
i might do some tweaks but nothing that will damage it look and appeal.

could anyone tell me what the pull - push tone knobs do? i have a good idea but anyone who could tell would help me out, thanks.

Congrats!

The pull-switches are (from top to bottom)

Coil tap (converst humbuckers to single coil)
Fat (middle pickup on)
Phase reverse (switches phase of bridge pup for out of phase effect when combined with middle or neck pickup)

The locking nut should be replaceable, I'll look around and keep you in mind if I find one. A generic one will work though it may mean more holes to drill.

The pickups should be fairly high output. they're super magnaflux VII's, which are some of the best pickups made by Matsumoku, and among the best made by anyone. If they're low output, I'd suspect something is wrong- maybe a bad volume pot? The whammy bar should be standard.

You should be able to set this guitar up and have it playing with the best of them- if you run into problems let me know, I'll help if I can.
