I started law school about a month ago and haven't been around for a while. It's been fun checking out the new posts and seeing the (increasing?) enthusiasm for our beloved Electras. Not much to add, since I haven't been shopping much, but I hope you all are doing well!

BTW: current fave Electra is my first one, the Electric Oak armed with Harmonic Design Z-90s. No MPC capabilities, but rock tone for miles.

Take care!

Matthew

Hope Law school is going well; the way our society is going you should stay busy!

Thanks for using my avatar!

Hello Tree
Hope you have many law breakers in your town
so you'll be blessed with lots of work.

Have you ever played an Electra Omega?
I've been looking closer at those whenever I see one online.
Some say these are the bomb.

The Omegas aren't bad at all. More of a Jazz or mellow blues guitar than pop or rock oriented.

The pickups and switching go from 60s to a mellow laid back. They sound pretty good clean, pretty much a rythm guitar. I suspect much of this is due to the pickups chosen for it. Mine I left stock, but another identical save for finish that has been here a number of times had more agressive picukps installed and that seemed to perk things up a bit. It gave it a little more growl and a little more bite for rock rythms and leads.

They have a ply top draped over braces, so there's a small chamber just beneatch the cap.

Hmmm. If I ever get into trouble I guess I know who to get ahold of, eh? Glad to see you back.

Thanks for all the well wishes!

I love the Omegas! I've had an X-330 and currently own an X-340. I like the MPCs a bit more, for the FX, but my current Electra fave is my non-MPC Electric Oak loaded with Harmonic Designs Z-90s. Just look them up on Harmony Central if you want the idea. Very nice. I use that in tandem with my Gibson L6-S. Very different guitars, but they both really work for me. Although I chose them for the tones, I guess I have to admit that I'm a fan of unconventional axes.

This site really helped me a lot when I was first getting into Electras. Good luck with your personal guitar journey!

Your fellow Electriot,

Matthew

Just noticed that I wrote essentially the same thing in two posts in this short thread. I guess I really have become that boring. Or maybe I'm just really, really sincere.

Cheers,

M
