I just bought this westone online. Looks like the fretboard is red also. Can't wait till the end of the week when it gets here. I'll post better pics then.

Paul, do you have one of these? If so how do they sound and play?

I have a blue one on the way :)

But frankly, I don't find a whole lot of difference between any of the maple-bodied bendmaster-bridged Phoenix/Spectrums. Which is to say they sound great. (where there is more difference is with ash bodies, brass string-through bridges, etc).

If anything, the various models fell short only in that they are pretty similar to one another. I mean, sure, I love my H-S-H FX, but in a pinch I can pick up a 1-hum X110 and cover a majority of the same sonic territory.

So it'll be great, you'll love it!

I've always liked those models with the painted f/board.

My first 80's guitar was a 1983 Electra Phoenix. I had gotten away from playing it that last 10 or 12 years when I bought an Ibanez JEM. Well, I've been playing it again after I found a blue 86 Westone Spectrum. I had forgotten how good these play and sound. So I've been on the hunt for more of them lately. I'm taking my Phoenix to the gig this weekend for a blast from the past.

I played the guitar this weekend at a gig and loved it. The maple body has a great sound. Looks like I need a blue one now too....LOL
