camhello
That section is down right now.
You might notice some other glitches here and there but not to worry.

AP2 is doing some updates and maintenance so bear with us.

Anyhow, do you have pics of this guitar you speak of?
Try to get some posted so the peeps here can help.

finally got the guitar in the mail yesterday.  :D :D

i'll post pics next week after i've had the chance to take some and show it off.

heck - it's beat up...but, it's a lefty!!!

it looks like an x-330, but i'm not sure.

so...onto the questions:

does anyone have the wiring diagrams they can send me? the electra site is down again...

i think my wiring has been all buggered up. the pots are original, but i don't have the 5-way switch on the top of the upper bout. instead, i've got a 3-way toggle switch. i think maybe it's been wired a bit like a les paul?

also, between the 2 toggle switches under the 4 knobs, there's a button that looks like it's original but i don't know? it makes the pickups sorta 'active'?

speaking of the pickups - those have been changed i think? the bridge is a dimarzio pickup w/ 'duosound' written on the bottom in marker. i think that's supposed to mean 'dual sound', like the super distortions? the neck pickup is totally confusing. it just says 'pat. pend.' on the back and there's a stamp that says '1712a' on the back as well.

chances are that the electronics have been fooled with, but maybe the few lefties that were produced had different electronics?

thanx for all the help!!!!

oh yeah - this came with the fuzz and the phase shifter modules. :D :D nice... :D

of the electra, plus my lefty vantage flying v and a domino californian (it's righty now, but that's b/c I put back on a righty nut b/c I'm gonna be selling it. I think the domino guitars were made by matsumoku?)

cool thing is that although the wiring is a mess on the electra, i got another one in NJ for way cheap that's gonna donate it's guts...

:D :D

annoying = when you clean your body w/ acetone, it does a great job, then you start the neck but it ruins the finish on the neck. ah well...

What did the finish on the neck look like, before and after?
Is acetone normally safe on guitar finishes?

but it's good for cleaning up sticker residue and gunk in general. when i got the guitar, i figured i'd have to redo the finish anyway.

typical...now there's one on ebay...ah well...

Camhello,
That's a lefty Electra w/ a set neck? How does it feel? Also, try Goo Gone for removal of sticker residue.
