......at the music store where i am a part time unpaid "apprentice" guitar tech (hey-i dont get paid, but the tech that is teaching me is darn good....and i get a 20% discount) i got an aria pro II zz deluxe...or what was lefot of it anyway....for a grand total of $14. first glance i think the bridge has been replaced, the neck pickup removed and the cavity filled in, all but one volume knob removed and the holes filled, and the bridge pickup replaced with some random piece of junk......and the front of the guitar given a really bad spray can finish......and the back a spray chrome finish.......

Yikes! :-?

This one sounds really bad, but I'm sure somewhere there is one worse! I wonder what's with all of the hole and cavity filling? What could that guy have been thinking of?

Well, it will certainly be a challenge to your newfound luthier skills, but just think of the satisfaction you'll get if you can get it back into playing shape.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

Let me know if you want a replacement pickup, I'm pretty sure I have an extra that's correct original (as close as I can figure).

nice score! i guarantee that is one guitar that will shine forth from teh ashes and when you're done it will be truly fine! Exactly the very epitome of a salvaged guitar in the worst state being polished into a true gem! ZZ's have excellent balance, they're very compfortable to play, even more so than traditional explorers.

keep us posted! can you post pics? iot would be awesome to see before and after, plus any steps inbetween.
