 Post subject: mcp modules

well i bought a mcp electra i came with two modules a phase shifter and a power overdrive. the power overdrive won't work even tought i cleaned the contacts. it's poted in wax so i can see any inside. any suggestions on what may be wrong and how to fix it.

I'd guess one of the caps...

the MPC modules page for the overdrive, has a good pic of the board.
you'll have to melt the wax out first though.....

I got my caps at radio shack.

I had a different type of cap that went bad, and it fried. was burnt and crumbling... not sure if these type of caps will do that or not though....

also a other thing, when it flip the switch for it it dose seem to boost the volume but no over drive(it just could be me). i don't no if it helps in the dianosis i just don't want to tear it a part and fix the wrong thing.

also what where the part numbers(or what i should ask for from radio shack) of the caps


edit- i just got thought melting the wax of and it looks fine but i plug it in and still the voulme increases but no overdrive.........
