I have a 2253w in otherwise excellent condition, but the neck pickup (a humbucker) is bad. I'd swap it out for a new one, but it seems to be slightly larger than other humbuckers I have looked at on other guitars. The bottom says "Maxon". Does anyone know of a good solution? I'd rather not have to have a new pickguard made, and I don't really want a gap either. Thanks.

Ask around at the Guitar Gallery site, Crusty has had some luck repairing these pickups by checking them over and then unwinding until he finds a break. he may be able to advise you accordingly.

Consider yourself lucky your bridge pickup is ok. They are even stranger size, smaller than most and extremely tall, like twice the normal height of a tele pickup. Makes them hard to replace with anything else.

Did I spell this wrong on mine it looks like Maxcm is yours 24314 numbers on the back ??
