Boy I wish I had more money cause I saw about 10 Electra's in the past week, but here's the one I settled on. Because the price was right. $230.00 It looks like a cross between a 2244/2249 Superrock. I got a feeling the coil tap is an add on. Pick ups probably to. Knobs yep. Truss rod cover, American Flag, Whoa!!! who you trying to fool. Gonna fix her up a little in the next week. Sounds awesome through my Univox ULM-6.

Here's the pics any added info would be great.

I'd guess early model 2249 with lots of mods.

Thanks Y'all. Yep thats what I thought 2249 sans the Gibson diamond on the headstock. Mods for sure. I don't mind. I can't take these inflated Electra prices so if I have to sacrifice a coil tap for a sweet guitar like this, well, it's o.k. by me. First electra about 10 years ago, X960 for 200 and about 2 years ago tele for 99.00 that was a steal. So taking her up to a lutherie bud for a set up, more correct knobs, couple of pots, maybe some pick ups. I think the neck is OG, but the bridge? Any ideas.
Well cool. Thanks. I'll take another pic after. Have to get pics of my other 2.

The knobs could very well be stock! And they're really cool old school, too. That's one detail I hate when people upgrade- you see some cool old vintage guitar and somebody's put tele barrel knobs on it or something. It's the first thing to get thrown away as 'not modern enough' when in fact, like the woodgrain on an old station wagon, it's one of the period details that is really cool.

You could be right on the knobs. And I feel what your saying. But, I haven't seen any pics of Electra's with those knobs. I fancy the clear with the color onderneath like on most models. We'll see how I feel after some nice new smooth pots. A couple of the pots are f'ed.

Check it out, someone just listed the identical guitar on eBay last night...should give you a good idea of what it looks like stock

My friend hipped me to that. Pretty cool. I see some differences already. Mine does not have the Gibson diamond thing on the Headstock? (I kinda wish it did) Around the body on mine it's just black binding not black and white. I have different tuners, but they don't appear to be aftermarket. Pretty sweet I'll keep my eye on that one.

I seem to remember those star tuners were only around in 1976/77. I did have them on a 1976 semi-hollow burgundy pro.

Alright, back from my friends. Still needs alittle work, frets, neck. Had some trouble woth the switch. It was wired series /parallel and when you turned the volume up it died off alittle after 9, weird. So some new pots, pick ups (Golden Age from Stu Mac), knobs, jack. Sounds great! I think it looks a little closer to stock too. Here's some pics.
