It is the same exact thing as a Gibson ES-335 but the head stock is different.

It sounds like one of the 335 copies. After 76 most of the headstocks changed to avoid trademark violation with Gibson (which is as far as the 'lawsuit' ever went). So that probably identifies your guitar as '77 or later. Pics will tell more.

DO you think someone on here could tell me what it is worth?
I don't want to sell it I would just like to know.
It doesn't have any scratches or blemishes except for one little nick at the top of the head stock and it sounds and plays great.

Ah... we can pretty clearly call this a 77, which makes it one of the very first wave headstock models. That 'pineapple' truss rod cover is something I've only seen before on 76's, and I suspect on Matsumokus.

The serial number is very interesting because it's 'Hoshino style', same as Ibanezes of 76 and 77. D (not zero) 77 at the start of the serial number means April 77. It could be either Fujigen or Matsumoku as they were sourcing the guitars Hoshino sold.

To those who doubt that this serial number is really following the Hoshino style numbering system, remember that in order to be Hoshino style, the letter has to be L or lower, and the next two digits have to be 76 or 77 (because those were the years that system was used). jsut looking at the two digits, a random serial number has a 1 in 50 chance of accidentally having 76 or 77...

It's an X-410 Jazz Strad

you don't see a lot of the Electra ones, but here's a look at ES-335 copies on the bay. they generally go for $99 on up.....

http://search-desc.ebay.com/search/sear ... age=search

I would think at least $200, possibly more.... best to keep an eye on the auctions to see if there's a pattern....
