I have a 330 that looks like your picture. It is serial # 201xx, so I assume that it is newer than yours. I was barely a teenager when I got this guitar and that was back around 1982. I don't know if that helps.

Yeah, he gave up :) I didn't, it's just you have to realize that it works only after a certain point. There are also some other dating methods earlier for some models, such as those with Hoshino-style serials (first letter =month, next two digits year). It's a dead giveaway because Hoshino only used it in 76 or 77, so you always see those two digits as the second and third digit. Outlaws were made by Terada, who wasn't following the Hoshino-style or later Matsumoku-style serial pattern.
