I am SUCH a sucker for projects. I probably paid too much for it, too.

The bad news: no wiring. At least the bridge and pickguard are there.

I'll keep you posted when it arrives.

hmm... seems like a lot of money for a broken guitar...

however, you might want to check out this auction as well.... seems like it was made for you ;)

Oh, nah, I'll glue it up and it'll be as good as new- if it falls and breaks again it'll break the wood in a new place.

Of COURSE I paid too much. Grr. And of course the seller also wants to sell me the harness... the total is worth what the guitar would be, unbroken. Actually I'm relieved to find that harness, for the guitar's sake.

But we have to pay for our entertainment, yes? This is not a guitar I'd normally think of buying, so when it's done I'll either sell it and possibly break even (who wants to buy a guitar with a repaired neck?) or more likely give it away to a friend.

This is why I stay away from the animal shelter and just mail a donation check.

Wow! Good luck man. I wish I had the time and materials (as well as a room) to work on that kind of project.

If you can't get the neck fixed there was an Electra neck on e-bay that may fit. Good luck.

Follow up on that one! I want to see how it turns out. I also think you paid too much for it but I am glad you got it instead of someone else. At least it will get fixed. I saw that and thought with all that it was missing and the severity of the break and there was no way I wanted to tackle that repair. You would have almost had to *GIVE* me the guitar. Clearly - they didn't give it to you (at least litterally). I know once you get that beast back together I will be totally impressed!

Good luck my friend!

Thanks, I have the original wiring harness and pickups on the way for it too. SHould be a good candidate for a photoessay!

Yet another chance if your glue job doesn't hold up too well. Have until Apr-25-08 13:42:03 PDT if interested

I saw that, its interesting! UNgluing and glueing in new set necks is beyond my experience. However, I've never yet had a neck break after it was glued (with the exception of a Korean neck with the notoriously un-repairable 2nd fret scarf joint).

I do know some people who like to glue in a bolt neck, especially on LP's and such. That neck would be a perfect candidate.
