say, Hey, I missed your auction, would you take an offer? Most will, it saves them the cost of listing it again- or if they want to be careful they can run an immediate Buy It Now and email you when it's up, and you can nab it.

ended listings don't have a link to email the seller, but you can look up their info and ask them a question via one of their other auctions.

if memory serves me correctly, i think he parted it out after the third listing with no nibbles

but can't hurt to ask
