I recently bought a Electra that is similar to the 2229 (2228) posted on the Electra page... Same color... the only thing that's different is the bridge. It has a bolt-on neck and it does not have a trem bar. It just has a fixed bridge similar to that on the 2227.

I will post pics as soon as I get it back from being set up sometime this week.

All the slimline series had bolt necks, I believe. It's certainly possible somebody replaced the trem tailpiece for a non-trem, the trem is the most useless part of them.

Looks great! There does appear to be a trace of gold plating on the pickups, and their shape confirms that this is a 2229, a Super Professional, the deluxe version. My guess is the tailpiece (and the knobs) were replaced at some point. It's interesting to see that label peeking through the F-hole, same as the other slimlines have. I've wondered if the 2229 was made by the same maker, or if it's very different- that would suggest the same.

The pickups are gold colored. They have a very interesting tone, and are VERY microphonic. Apparently it was somewhat difficult for the repair person to set up the guitar because apparently these bolt on neck hollowbodies are not made in typical fashion with a piece of wood through the body. He did a great job bringing it back to life, however. The previous owner had it sitting around for 10 years!

The other slimlines have fake humbuckers- only a single coil under the cover! It would be really interesting to see what's under yours- different covers, I bet they're real humbuckers. You could certainly wax pot them with good results to eliminate the microphonics.
