i added it...it had lots of discoloration around that area...so i found a guitar tech that was close by at the time and custom made one for cheap...not exactly what i was going for but i still like it... :D

I think I like it more with the pickguard.
How much did the guitar run you money wise? I'm guessing like, 150?
This one shows reall good how the phoenix body was made, three slabs put together. Actually, yours looks like 5.
Still, can't go wrong with a Phoenix, although I personally prefer Peace-Sign logo era Phoenixes.
Nice guitar, either way, I'm sure your a happy person.

it is my first guitar the one i learned to play on...got the phoniex and a old gorilla practice amp for $150 back in october of '89 at second time around guitar shop...so you were close on price..LOL..it has it flaws but thats what makes it mine...didn't know any history about it until i found this website...THANK YOU guys so much!!! :D

would never get rid of it...owned a few strats...but always go back to my baby...sounds great plays great...plus its one of the last of the phoniex's before they really changed...they only had the name westone for a second, right???...it's all original...except for the pickguard...still have the original tremelo and all...play with ernie ball's and i love it...it came to me for a reason, thats what i like to think...happy shredding all...seen a bass on ebay just like it...wish i could've got it...in do time friends...electras forever...indianapolis electra lover...

Very nice job on hte pickguard, and a great choice, it looks like it ought to have been made that way!

And those NA finish Phoenixes with the figured ash bodies and maple neck- mM! You just can't find that in many other guitars, no matter how you look.

This guitar shows real nice the body style, really brings it out.
You know, I really can't get over the styling.
It's that good. :D
