Hi,

I bought a X640n Bass at a garage sale a couple of years ago. I paid 40 bucks for it. The case is shoddy, but I can't believe the great condition the Bass is in. I spent the afternoon after I bought it setting it up (The action was way too high). I put on new strings and everything is fine. I am a little puzzled as to how to properly use the controls. I am thinking that the toggle switch that is farthest away (no. 3) is the on/off for the active circuit. The other 2 are the pickup phase controls. If I am wrong, please let me know. Is there a manual for this model? I would like to get an original case if possible. The catalog lists the case number as C640. I suppose the case is rare. I also just had to replace a toggle. Does anyone have the original flat toggles that match.

I can't say much for controls, but you may beright with phase/active EQ.

Anyhow, that is a STEAL. I paid twenty for my Electra (X140), but it isn't like this.
I want an Electra bass, but to no avail can I find one...

Thanks, I was fortunate to find it. I was walking my dog in my neighborhood early in the morning. A neighbor a couple doors away was setting up for the sale. I saw this long maple neck sticking up in the back of all the stuff. I thought, WOW is that an old Fender P bass (Telecaster)!!?? After I set this up it plays and sounds great. I am getting the hang of the controls. Flipping the third switch in the down position gives you access to plenty of boost and/or treble enhancement. Lots of fun and a true pleasure to play and a thing of beauty to look at. Very nice design and control set up.

Guess that means you're keeping it. :P

I do have a P-Bass, but want an Electra Outlaw or Phoenix.
