No, it isn't a typo.
Two days ago, I paid 20 bucks (USD) for a beaten, but otherwise awesome, guitar. This is a Phoenix X140.
When I got it....
-No Volume/tone knobs
-Body scratches
-dull finish
-5 out of six strings
-input jack fell through pickguard
-broken fat switch (yet to be fixed)
-missing tuner head eyelets.
And that's not all. I took off the pickguard, and to my surprise, the wires from the pickups were mangled and torn.

So, I took it to a local shop, Dave's deals.
Dave rewired it and it works, he threw in new strings, some temporary knobs, and eyelets, all for 25 bucks.

My dad will be making some brass knobs, similar to the originals, and I'll find some correct elylets.

Funny thing is the kid i bought it from thought his cousin had made it, he had no clue what it was.

I love it, here's the pics.

Yeah, I love it. Actually got it playing as well as a Strat at guitar center, so it effectively works.

I'm thinking posibly putting on Semour Duncan pickups and a Bixby Vibrato if it'll fit.
But don't worry, I'll keep all original hardware if mods come.

I just gotta fix the fat switch and it'll be fully operational.

But yeah, I'm so glad I got this guitar, I really enjoy it.

Oh yes!

This is it, the mythical ultimate score. A truly great guitar, and one of the rarer finishes it came in. What's the serial number (first 3 digits anyhow)? tell me the first digit isn't zero.

You are one lucky guy, treat it well, it came to you for a reason. Must be some music needs to happen.

Yes, the first digit is year. The next two will be either 11 or 12.

Yeah, I love this thing. Gotta say I prefer this to the later Electra/Westone kind. It's what most call the "boring" guitar, brown, 2 knobs, hardtail, etc.
But I can't say I'm complaining, plenty for me.
Although I've now found that my tone capacitor or pot is not working..
