Good Golly, we haven't ever seen this variation before, and now there's a 2nd one on eBay! S/N 005065 (very close to Daves..) Weird X930ish body with Dot neck and X960 Ultima Electronics? Go figure! Sounds like SLM had a few on the drawing board that they never put into Literature. See this related Forum Topic:

Or Daves auction at:

We better snatch these pics and send them in!
X189 Player would probably love another guitar to put into the site database.
Seems more will keep turning up.
Electra is fun, is it not?

Unbelievable. It looks very clean. Comes with three modules too. I wonder what the reserve is?

Crazy how these ProEndorser like guitars are cropping up all over lately.

OK, here's a Forum Poll... what should we call the new Hybrid Guitar that seems to be sweeping the nation? Here are a few of the names I came up with:

Vultima (my fave!)

Ultican (not my fave)

Pro Ultima (remember the Ultima was a Slab non contoured body)

X-933 (somewhere between a 930 and 935)

Ultima Deluxe (nod to Gibson)

Vulcan Dot Neck (another nod to Gibson, ala the coveted ES-335 Dot Neck)

Any other suggestions? Cheers, Mike.

I say we call it the Vulture.
Cause, you know, it sounds like Vulcan and Endorser.

Here is an advertisement that I'm sure many of you have looked at (and subsequently ignored) many times:

Image

Another eBay listing, so who knows how long the image link will be good for, but looky here... A Vulcan (X930) with dot inlays... Also tough to make out from the shoddy scan, but that could be a normal Three way pickup selector instead of the 5 way rotary switch.

So, I think we should call the Dot Neck Vulcan the 'Dicky Betts' signature model... anyone with me? OK, lets go change the world now. Cheers, Mike.

P.S. I saw yet another 'Dot Neck Vulcan' on Craigs List a few weeks back, so this 'Non Catalog' guitar seemed to have been more than just a freak production run, there are more than a few out there.
