The guy contacted me, offering 150 dollars for an acoustic I was selling/trading.
But, he noticed I wanted Electras, and has one sitting in his garage. No details on it, it's natural finish though. And 1970's model.
Interesting story, but I'll get ot that later.
I'm SO happy right now.

Well, I got it. It's a Walnut Stain Workingman.
So, the guy who had it beofre me paid around 500 bucks. Someone brought it in signed by George Harrison.
BUT, it was a fake sig, and the guy was out 500 bucks. He then played it for a while, and put a sticker from Metallica's "Black Album" so that he could test out a friends new sticker machine thing. Needless to say, it didn't do so hot, so he just leftit there and put it in his garage until yesterday when he got it out to bring it to me. It's beaten, but the wood is not cracked and all electronics work fine, tuners are great, etc.

Looks like a solid axe man, good score. Now you have a 3 single coil and a Dual Humbucking Electra set. How does it compare to your X140? By the looks of the Logo, I would say that it's a '81 or '82, probably has a six digit serial number. Where is the sticker or the sticker damage? Can we ask what you paid for it?

Looks a little weathered, maybe it just needs a good cleaning. A worn guitar is typically the sign of a well loved and good playing instrument. A long time ago I was at a Guitar show with my guitar tech, actually he had a booth there, but anyway he showed me this one dealer who had two Jazzmasters basically the same age, only one was beat to heck and the other one almost spotless. They were priced within a hundred bucks of each other (before the collector boom), and I told him that the near mint one would be a bargain. He smiled and told me that the beater was the deal. When I played the worn one, the notes sprang out, it was loud and lively. The clean one was dull and uninspiring. He taught me that the guitars that are played and worn are usually that way for a reason, because they play and sound good. This was before the fake 'Relic' craze. Enjoy, Mike.

I find I enjoy the tone of the humbuckers more than single coils. It'll probably become my main 6-string, but the X-140 won't be left out, it still has that tone that only singles can provide.
The Serial # is 082508.
The pic is the guitar after ceaning, but before polishing. I removed the sticker after I got it. Also changed strings. (The originals were still on there, but on the way to gone)
Paid one cruddy acoustic (which I paid 30 for).

The Workingman is now my vacation house guitar so I don't have it here. I remember it was a 1980 though so it could be close to yours.

BTW I thought that I got buy of the year on my Workingman cus it came with the original case for $65 and was in new condition. I will be happy to call it a tie

The Phoenix was 20 (plus 20 for repairs), the Workingman 30 (and a pain in the butt of an acoustic to trade for it), so I paid five more for two guitars.
Then again, no cases, a dead tone circuit on the Phoenix, and a nearly forgotten Workingman.
Tie it is.

The stock humbuckers do provide some nice tone. I actually like it better than my Strat for playing straight "Crunchy" rhythm through my Peavey amplifier. The Jumbo frets (That I believe were added later) make the thing a real player as well. The only thing I wish is that the neck was a 25.5" scale like a Strat because it gets too "Crowded" when you are playing beyond the 12th fret.

I am glad I am not the only one this happens to. I always blame it on my fat bass player fingers.

That's reason three I can't really play guitar solos.
Being a bassist and actually having to make musical sense is a bit of a drag.
